Who We Are

Inspired by a life changing event, Murphy charitable foundation Uganda is a registered non-profit organisation, established in 2018, operating throughout the nation with a primary focus on North Eastern Region and its head office located in Bukedea District. We are dedicated to alleviating poverty, improving health and education in our project areas.

Our journey began with a deep understanding of the struggles faced by individuals living in extreme poverty. Moved by their pain, we are devoted to addressing the needs and rights of vulnerable populations in rural communities by tackling critical social and economic issues.

Our primary goal is to implement sustainable and impactful projects that enhance education, healthcare, empowerment, and community development.

Support Our Causes

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT-KIND LOANS

The Skilling and Kind Loans Program aims to help over 1 million vulnerable rural women gain skills and grow their businesses. It focuses on underserved areas, providing business training and mentorship, especially for single mothers and widows. Kind Loans offers no-interest loans repayable after 12 months or as non-refundable grants, managed by the foundation.

MOTIVATIONAL MOVIE PROJECT

Our Motivational Movie Project inspires children by sharing real-life stories of resilience in overcoming adversity. These narratives show that success is achievable, even in tough times, motivating young minds to persist and pursue their goals. Additionally, the Pen Pal Magic App enhances mental health, school retention, and global connections through international pen pal relationships.

PEN PAL PROGRAM

Our pen pal program connects vulnerable children with international friends who provide encouragement on education, healthcare, family, and the environment. These letters motivate the children for exams and special occasions like Christmas.

COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINICS

We are dedicated to improving access to essential healthcare and strengthening health infrastructure in communities. Our aim is to ensure everyone receives quality care, enhancing overall well-being and health outcomes for all.

CHILD SPONSORSHIP

After enrolling in school, children, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, require support for fees and materials to succeed academically and pursue their dreams. We work in disadvantaged communities to identify promising yet at-risk children, such as orphans, who lack the financial means to continue their education. Our commitment is to provide these children with school fees, materials, and other essential needs in our project areas.

CANCER AWARENESS.

Our mission focuses on reducing key risk factors, especially tobacco and alcohol use, which significantly increase cancer rates in vulnerable groups like youth and women. We aim to raise awareness and implement effective strategies to lower these risks. Additionally, we collaborate with global initiatives, such as the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, to strengthen our commitment to improving public health outcomes.

WATER AND ENVIRONMENT

We are committed to solving water crisis in underserved communities, with our team working tirelessly to create a positive impact daily. Our plan includes installing sustainable water systems, upgrading infrastructure, and educating communities on water hygiene to ensure long-term access to clean water, with active involvement from local stakeholders.

OUTREACH PROGRAM

We connect with communities through our outreach program for children under seven, promoting early education and training for caregivers. Our initiatives include feeding programs, nutrition workshops, and educational resource centers, along with affordable menstrual products and health education to reduce stigma and enhance overall health.
