In response, Glovo Uganda and Murphy Charitable Foundation have united to make a transformative impact, delivering essential resources to school children and providing crucial care to sick children in hospitals. Through this powerful partnership, we are empowering Uganda’s next generation to overcome obstacles, pursue their education, and enjoy better health outcomes.
Supporting School Retention and Enrolment for At-Risk Children.
Our partnership focuses on keeping children in school by addressing the fundamental barriers they face. In Kampala, specifically slum areas where many families struggle to meet basic educational needs, we’ve reached thousands of children with food and school supplies like books, sets, pencils, pens. For girl children, in particular, we are providing sanitary pads that help them manage their health needs with dignity, allowing them to stay in school consistently.
School retention is essential for a brighter future, and our collaboration is rooted in the belief that education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty. By equipping children with these necessary resources, we’re helping them stay focused, stay enrolled, and build a path toward completing their education.
Nurturing the Health and Wellness of Hospitalised Children
In addition to our educational support, we are reaching out to the most vulnerable children in hospitals, where basic needs can be difficult to fulfill. Our work has already touched the lives of young patients at Mulago Cancer Institute, providing them with nutrient-rich food and other essential items to improve their comfort and aid in their recovery. This support goes beyond just meeting physical needs, it brings hope, healing, and encouragement to children and their families who are facing challenging journeys.
With plans to extend our reach to other hospitals throughout Kampala and beyond, our goal is to ensure that sick children receive the nutrition, comfort, and love they need to live healthier lives and recover more fully. By working hand in hand with hospitals and communities, we are able to address both immediate needs and long-term health outcomes for these children.
